You have found me!
Welcome to Siren North.
I’m Paula Bailey, a UX designer, strategist, and creative with 15 years of experience spanning federal agencies, private tech, and mission-driven startups. My toolkit includes design systems, data visualization, user research, accessibility (WCAG), development, and graphic design but I always lead with one question:
To me, good UX is felt. It’s the experience of how something makes you feel in your person. If your shoulders drop when you use the product. When a site behaves predicatably and with grace, you build trust with users. These cues are often invisible to stakeholders, but prioritizing this feeling reduces bounces, lowers call center volume, and builds loyalty. A good website is good marketing. It builds brand trust.
I believe in lightweight, strategic solutions. I test interfaces exhaustively, remembering to tab through with a keyboard as well as navigating with a screen reader. Accessibility is about both code, and design. If a user can’t move through the page with ease, we haven’t finished.
I also speak fluent dev. In addition to having a develpment background, I’ve worked directly with engineers, strategists, and policy teams to translate human needs into scalable systems. My goal isn’t to overwhelm your team with design theory and minutia, it’s to build something beautiful that actually works for the people it’s meant for.
Yes, I work with emerging tools, including ai, but only when they enhance the experience, not replaces it. I use emerging tools to speed up workflows and explore concepts. But I believe human insight still makes the best map.
Let’s make something that makes sense.
I collaborate with mission-driven teams, creative thinkers, and curious problem-solvers. Whether you’re launching something new, refining a product, or untangling user flows that keep you up at night, I bring clarity, strategy, and sharp design to the table.
